We stopped for tea and a bite to eat, the tables and service are deliciously old fashioned and will take you straight back to the 1960's.

I love going to the orchid house, it always reminds me of my Grandma.

Durban Botanical Gardens...

We went to visit the Durban Botanical Gardens, we chose the perfect day, beautiful weather. It's so good for the soul, we really enjoyed the gardens. We weren't the only ones enjoying it, an entire art school was there too, each one found a comfy spot to sit and draw. The entrance is free for everybody and the gardens are beautifully maintained. Definitely worth a visit and regularly if you live nearby :-) Note: the curio shop has closed down (but may reopen in the not too distant future). http://www.durbanbotanicgardens.org.za/

Umgeni River Mouth...

We went birding at one of the more popular birding spots in Durban and I was lucky enough to pick up a lifer: Caspian Tern. We also picked up a couple for our trip list. Moussaka...

I made a moussaka for supper, it turned out to be very tasty but I managed to use every pot in the house (caravan).

Rain...

And then it rained, the most they've had in Ballito for 17 years and as P says it waits for us to get here ;-)

Salt Rock Caravan Park...

Salt Rock Hotel...

We went to lunch at the Salt Rock Hotel and found the caravan park right next door and couldn't resist going on a recce, but neither of us fancy it enough to make a stop there.

Supper...



We had a very nice supper at The Waterberry.

The Waterberry...

We walked across for dinner one evening, they're not usually open at night but decided to organise dinner for the pensioners in the caravan park. We had sticky chicken and salad with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Very nice.

Dentist...

I had to go to the dentist the other day for a check up, these were in the waiting room and I thought it very useful, just a wooden "U", one small side fits under the couch and the same above the couch for a cup of coffee or your book. Doesn't take up much room at all and so useful!

Clouds...

Every cloud has a silver lining. I hope you have a good week :-)

Washing...

I always seem to be washing, but it's only once a week, usually I use two machines at R15 a load, 30 minutes later I can hang it up and am always happy if it air dries ~ so I watch the weather for a nice sunny day. Hope you don't have a blue Monday!

Crochet...

Finally I learned how to crochet and this is my attempt at a granny square!

Fish and Chips...

Tea...

Everyday they serve tea and coffee here at 10:30. We usually have black rooibos tea when we are here.

Lunch...

We had such a lovely lunch with Marietta and Howard, yesterday. We couldn't stop chatting :-) and saw the loveliest sunset on the way home.

Beach...
