Afsaal picnic spot...

At Afsaal, you can get any number of things to eat and drink, I had coffee and P got some kudu wors with pap and sheba (tomato and onion sauce) to take away.

Fruit...

We've been buying the most delicious fruit from the sellers on the side of the road, just after the N4 turnoff to the Malelane gate. R 25 for six of each papinos and mangoes ~ ripe and ready to eat.

Walking...

We've enjoyed the walks around the campsite, all the paraphenalia: binoculars, hat, stick and water.

Swimming pool...

I've really enjoyed the swimming pool and have spent at least an hour doing my version of Aqua ~ every single day, loved it!

Snail Sunday...

This giant snail, was hanging around our campsite. It must have been about 12cm across.

Sistema & Werda...

I was pleased to find both these Sistema containers and the Werda salads at the local Spar, makes life much easier :-)

Beauty Box...

This is my beauty box, it has a separate tray for clean, dry clothes, so useful. (Actually it's a picnic basket and they have a smaller one, that I have seen used for the same purpose.)

Lower Sabie...

The campsites are very small and we won't be able to fit our rig on the demarcated sites.

Sunset Dam...

Just outside of Lower Sabie camp, is covered in algae and a bit smelly, but we picked up a couple of birds for the list.

Riverscape...

Buffalo...

We saw a very large herd of buffalo and

they had young ones with them as well :-)

SGH...

Can you see the two Southern Ground-Hornbills, they may be nesting in that hollow branch. They have such a beautiful call although we didn't hear them calling on this occasion. Lion?

I think these may be lion spoor... Today we drove past a small bus of tourists and they quickly showed us a sign out of the window "Have you seen lion?" ~ I think they may have been desperate... Well we haven't seen any yet.

Jackalberry....

This beautiful old Jackalberry tree is in the Malelane satellite camp. Diospyros mespiliformus.

Ablutions...

This is the ablution block. Mostly I have it to myself. Three showers, three loos (one wheelchair friendly), three basins and one bath. Always enough hot water, a soap dispenser and paper towels to dry your hands on, although I prefer to take my own hand towel along :-) Functional so six out of ten. You can see the remains of the old monkey-proof bins ~ needed two hands to use, one to lift the lid and one to pop the rubbish in the bin (now missing).

Clean...

After all the washing, it's nice to have clean linen on the bed. February already means that we have been on the road for two months exactly and it still feels like we're on holiday :-)
