Unmentionables...

100% increase...

Imagine, the one day it cost R5 for a load of washing and the next day they changed it to R10 *horrified*, still cheap at the price :-)

Lounge...

Our lounge flooded... *most indignant* anyway I managed to catch up with some admin *smiles* ~ Saturday 19 January 2013.

Weather forecast...

Rain predicted for the next while... We watch the weather closely, in case we need to do any washing, go shopping, swimming, for a birdwalk or just a game drive. Hubby has a few that he keeps an eye on and this is his least favourite, the one from SA Weather.

New...

This is new, a huge improvement on just

the open cutlery drawers. Very useful!

Scrabble...

We managed to play one game of Scrabble (my favourite) on Christmas Day, during our stay here :-) We'll have to improve on that...

Barberton...

We went to Barberton on 4 January 2013 found this old mine, near Fernlea House and a short birdwalk laid out by the Barbeton Birdclub, nice. Afterwards we had lunch in a very old house converted into a restaurant. We had a look at the campsite, but it wasn't very exciting so we didn't really miss anything!

Swimming...

This is the Olympic swimming pool and I went twice to swim there, I swam once at the resort and squeezed in four swims at the gym ~ love swimming!

Lakeview Lodge...

Goodbye ~ 15 January 2013.

Birds: 106 so far

Cost: R 2 550 for 45 nights R 57 per night for the two of us. ($ 290 / $7)

Overall: Six out of ten.

Water: I drank the water without any problems.

Security: Excellent, safe for a single woman. Convenient as an overnight stop on the way to KNP or Mozambique.

We had a lovely stay. A gentle introduction to fulltiming.

Gardens...

We went back to the Botanical Gardens on 2 January 2013 ~ picked up a few more birds and had lunch as well, this was the burger on offer :-)

Read...

I managed to read five books in December and 26 on my Kindle in 2012 ~ I much prefer to read on my Kindle, especially as I have a large variety of books waiting for me... Mostly I pay $1.99 on the daily deal and a few other bargains picked up in the monthly deals :-)
