Camp Cuisine...
Lunch was a grilled cheese sandwich.
This may look like an ordinary old hamburger,
but they were steak rolls and delicous I may add.
Pierre cooked lamb shanks for Christmas eve, yummy.
He does an excellent grilled chicken in the oven!
Boiled potatoes are my speciality :-)
Pasta, with parmesan and fresh coriander, a la Claire.
Spaghetti Bolognaise, a la Claire.
The fridge is full after we go shopping :-)
And then someone has to wash up afterwards, we do
that once a day, after breakfast, the boss washes and I dry.
We don't cook everyday, some days we have left overs and we get to eat for free as it were, not everyone I know likes left overs, but us, we love them :-)You'll notice, I get to do the easy things and the boss, well he has to earn his keep, y'know.

Exercise...
This is the view for my exercise routine.
Thanks to Jeanne, the biokineticist :-) I really enjoy doing them and manage to fit them in a couple of times a week.
Too late I discovered that Virgin Active gives reciprocity over December and I managed to squeeze in an Aqua class on Friday 28 December 2012 and on Saturday, I did my own version of Aqua jogging and loved it ~ the last class I will be able to attend will be on Monday 31 December 2012 ~ after that our Vitality and Virgin Active subscriptions expire. Never again will I enjoy free gym... C'est la vie :-)

Ablutions...
This is the ablution block, girls in front, boys at the back.
The two handbasins.
The loo (two).
The shower, of which there are four and I always wear my slip-slops to shower. If you wanted to hang your towels up on those hooks, they would be sopping?!
Another basin in the shower cubicle, also gets sopping wet...
Somewhere to put your dry, clean clothes.
We go nice and early, as we open our eyes, five-ish, so we beat the rush.
Rating 5/10, clean, enough warm water and very cheap loo paper ~ nothing to dry your hands on ~ I carry my own towel and Babysoft (TM). #notafraidtomakemyownluxury.

Maxie...
The vervet monkeys are a real nuisance, always scrabbling in the bin and if you're not quick with packing the shopping away, they'll grab that too ~ with a particular fondness for fresh hot cross buns from Woolies.
But Maxie, likes to chase them, even if it means climbing trees :-) She got a packet of doggie treats for Christmas (from us)! She also got a soccer ball (not from us) ~ man can she dribble, move over Bafana Bafana.

Christmas
We did a little decorating...
Mostly green...
a splash of red...
and some orange.
I hope you have a blessed day!
Merry Christmas.

Very cosy...
I was so surprised to see we were getting new neighbours...
On Sunday 23 December 2012.
Only 10 metres away from us...
And as you can see of the total of six terraces with about 25x campsites per terrace, ours is the only one occupied. Only about 12x campsites taken in total. I'll let you know when they leave.
I try so hard to be gracious... and that was after we went to Church at St Michael's this morning in Nelspruit, lovely service and they made us feel very welcome :-) I hope we'll get a chance to try some of the other Anglican churches too.
But I will miss my view, and my exercise spot...

Wishy washy...
Only R15 per load, about $2, cheap at the price...
We always sun dry our washing, why not?
Nice and clean!
(that's the hotel laundry that they do :-)

Kaapsehoop...
A little painted reed frog wanted to come along for the ride on Sunday 16 December 2012.
The view en route, a little overcast, but not cold
and only rained when we got back to our campsite.
A picturesque little town.
Little Basset hounds for sale at the fair.
Coffee and a coke, adding a mandatory 10%
tip to the bill didn't impress everyone.
A little bird walk afterwards.
The only horses we saw and no blue swallows, we'll have to go back.
But we did see the Turkeys.

Lowveld National Botanical Garden continued...
I wanted to stop for coffee, but the coffeeshop was closed.
Fortunately, I brought an apple and some water...
More than I can say for the mosquitoes, I got at least four bites at the pitstop.
