Sisters holiday...

Ready to leave for our midweek break at The Strand. The first time we've ever been away together, just the two of us. We had some celebrating to do, one 51 and one 49.

Brettenwood...

Such a lovely estate, Les kindly met us at the gate and we were really hoping to find the Pygmy Goose (a lifer), we didn't but we saw lots of other birds.

Picnic...

Everyone stops for coffee & sandwiches and a jolly good catch up. The group saw about 75 species for the day. I was so pleased that Gwen and Ivan came to say hello, we last saw them at Berg-en-Dal.

Dolphin Coast Bird Club. This was the meeting point, we went out with the local bird club and thoroughly enjoyed the outing.

We found this boardwalk and enjoyed a quick stroll, but not many birds to see :-) We celebrate 6 months on the road already!

We stopped for tea and a bite to eat, the tables and service are deliciously old fashioned and will take you straight back to the 1960's.

I love going to the orchid house, it always reminds me of my Grandma.

Durban Botanical Gardens...

We went to visit the Durban Botanical Gardens, we chose the perfect day, beautiful weather. It's so good for the soul, we really enjoyed the gardens. We weren't the only ones enjoying it, an entire art school was there too, each one found a comfy spot to sit and draw. The entrance is free for everybody and the gardens are beautifully maintained. Definitely worth a visit and regularly if you live nearby :-) Note: the curio shop has closed down (but may reopen in the not too distant future). http://www.durbanbotanicgardens.org.za/
